Bob Dylan & His Band
Bob Dylan is widely hailed as the most influential musician of the 20th century. Known for his rich and poetic lyrics - the first in rock to be seriously regarded as literature, his work had considerable influence on the civil rights movement of the 1960s and has had significant impact on American culture over the past five decades. An 11 time Grammy winner, he has also received a Pulitzer Prize Special Citation and was awarded the 2009 National Medal of the Arts. In May of this year, President Obama honored Dylan at the White House, awarding him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom saying “there is not a bigger giant in the history of American music.” He has written more than 600 songs, and his songs have been recorded more than 3,000 times by other artists. At age 71 and 50 years after the release of his first LP, he continues to tour and record.
